Discovery
Discovery 2025: Mechanisms of Type 2 Inflammation in Disease and Beyond, is the second annual three-day conference that specifically features cutting-edge basic science research. Discovery runs alongside the 2025 AAAAI / WAO Joint Congress, which will take place in San Diego, CA, USA, from February 28 to March 3, 2025. The program will feature cutting-edge basic science symposia focused on type 2 immune cells, pathways and diseases from leading investigators. In addition, the meeting will include ample opportunities to network and to showcase the work of junior investigators through selected short talks, poster sessions and travel grants.

Announcing the 2025 Keynote Speaker, Lewis H. Ziska, PhD, Discussing the Effects of Climate Change on Plant Biology

Lewis H. Ziska, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Environmental Health Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.
He has worked extensively on documenting the impact of climate change and rising carbon dioxide levels on human health through a botanical lens, including allergies, nutrition, plant-based medicine and pesticide exposure. Dr. Ziska was a contributor to the 1995, 2001, 2007, 2014 and 2022 International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports and to the 2014 and 2018 National Climate Assessment (NCA). He also helped lead the 2016 special NCA report on climate and health; The Impacts of Climate Change on Human Health in the United States: A Scientific Assessment.

Join us in celebrating and supporting research by attending the AAAAI Foundation events in San Diego, CA, USA. The Annual Benefit will be held on Saturday, March 1 and the 13th Annual AAAAI Foundation Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, March 2.
On Saturday, March 1, we will be hosting the AAAAI Foundation Benefit at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. This is a premiere social event of the Joint Congress. Join us for an evening of fine dining, music and the presentation of our 2025 Faculty Development Awards.

You do not want to miss the 13th Annual AAAAI Foundation Run/Walk on Sunday, March 2, taking place on the Mission Beach Boardwalk just outside of the San Diego Convention Center. Join us as the sun sets to raise money for allergy, asthma and immunology research. Not a runner? No problem! Participants may choose to run the competitive 5K route or walk a shorter route at their own pace.
